Rimmel Brow This Way Eyebrow Sculpting Kit | Review

For a long time, I found that my favourite and the best method for me for filing in my brows was to use eyeshadow and an angled eyebrow brush. That was until I came across the little gem that is Rimmel Brow This Way…
You may have seen Brow This Way featured in a couple of my other posts, such as my Top Tips for Longer Lashes, or my Sunset Summer Makeup look… That’s because I absolutely love it! Here is what it looks like on the brows...

I think it works wonders!

This eyebrow kit has changed the way I do my brows, and after using it for a good couple of weeks, I don’t think I could ever revert back to using just powders for my brows. Sure, powders are great and using eyeshadow means you can switch up the colour according to your makeup-y mood. But how did I not realise that eyeshadow is even better when paired beautifully with a wax?!

First of all, Brow This Way is priced at a teeny tiny £3.99 at Boots which is a price I couldn’t simply ignore. After I saw its claim to be a “long lasting formula that feels lightweight and comfortable on eyebrows all day long” I thought to myself “why not give this bad boy a whirl?”

Brows This Way consists of a wax and a powder and comes in a cute little flip up box with a mini double-ended angled brush – one end each for the wax and powder – and mini spoolie brush to brush through your brows once perfected. To apply, you simply apply the wax with the angled brush to set your brows, then fill in any gaps with the powder. After combing through your brows, that’s it, you’re done!

I found that the palette lasted a good few hours-half a day before needing a touch up. This is totally fine obviously firstly due to the low price, but also the dinkiness of the palette makes it perfect for chucking into your handbag so you can reapply it as needed throughout the day.

I did find, however, that although the little angled brush that comes with the palette is very useful – especially on the go – using a larger angled brush of my own with the powder meant that the palette could be applied better.

I have had the palette for probably a month or so now and it's still lasting well. But as the palette is so cheap I think that even if it doesn’t last a very long time, it’ll be worth buying more frequently.

Now I will put together a brief list of pros and cons of the Brow This Way palette:

  • Better with different brush
  • A little mirror on the inside would be useful
  • Does need reapplying/touching up after a few hours
  • Very low price
  • Easy to use
  • Matches its claim
  • Colour pigmentation good and as expected, and perfect for my skin tone and hair colour (medium brown)
  • Compact and comes with brushes making it great for travelling
  • Lasts well considering price

Overall I am extremely pleased with Brow This Way and would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a strong brow game. I will absolutely be re-buying Brow This Way!

Do you have a preferred brow method to shape them to perfection? Do you prefer waxes, powders or liquids? Have you ever tried Brow This Way or a similar drugstore brow palette and what did you think? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a nice day!
